What the Siren flight numbers suggest

Speed 13 is a distance driver rating. Recreational players usually see the rated flight only with a fast, clean throw. Thrown slower, a disc this fast fades early and loses distance.

Turn -2 and fade 1 describe an understable flight: it moves right early in the flight before the finish, the shape slower arms and hyzer flips rely on. The -2 turn means it is rated to turn noticeably at full speed, which suits slower arms, hyzer flips and rollers, and the fade of 1 means a light finish as it slows down. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.

Glide 5 is typical for a distance driver in our database. Glide is the rating that changes least between similar discs; plastic and weight matter more for how long it stays up. The rim is 2.3 cm wide (about 0.91 in), a typical width for a distance driver. A rim this wide usually calls for a firm power grip.

Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the Siren as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
