For a replacement, use the similar-disc finder to make a shortlist, then compare the closest candidates with your familiar disc. A numerical match gives you something to investigate; grip, plastic and wear can still make another copy feel or fly differently.
For a new shot, look for the difference you actually want. A Proxy and an Envy are both speed-3 throwing putters, but their reference fade ratings are 0.5 and 2. That difference is useful when deciding how much finish you want. Read Proxy vs Envy before choosing by speed alone.
If you already carry several similar discs, build your bag and check possible overlap. Assign the shots you use them for. A matching rating does not make a disc redundant if your actual copies earn different roles. If you are starting from scratch, use our simple beginner bag as a starting point.

Similar candidates share a category, are within one speed point, and differ by no more than one point each in turn and fade. Glide helps order the candidates. Flight numbers are manufacturer ratings rather than standardized measurements across brands. The tool explains numerical differences and illustrates flight shapes; it does not predict distance or simulate your throw. Missing specifications remain marked as not recorded.
