What the Tactic flight numbers suggest

Speed 4 is a midrange rating. Most players can bring a disc this fast up to speed, so the rated turn and fade are close to what you will see. Our catalog provider lists it as a putt and approach disc; speed 4 is faster than the typical putt and approach disc in our database (median speed 2.5).

Turn 0 and fade 3 describe an overstable flight: little movement to the right and a dependable hook at the end, which helps in wind and on shots that must end left. The 0 turn means it is rated to hold its line at full speed rather than drifting, and the fade of 3 means a strong finish, more so into a headwind. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.

Glide 2 is on the low side for a putt and approach disc in our database. A low glide rating usually means a flight that drops sooner, which can make the disc easier to place on short shots. The rim is 1.1 cm wide (about 0.43 in), a typical width for a putt and approach disc. A rim this thin fits a fan grip or a putting grip.

Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the Tactic as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
