What the Xtreme flight numbers suggest
Speed 6 is a fairway driver rating. A moderate arm speed reaches the rated flight; thrown too slowly, it fades earlier than the numbers suggest. Our catalog provider lists it as a fairway driver; speed 6 is slower than the typical fairway driver in our database (median speed 8).
Turn 1 and fade 4 describe an overstable flight: little movement to the right and a dependable hook at the end, which helps in wind and on shots that must end left. The positive turn of 1 means the maker rates it to resist turning even when thrown hard, and the fade of 4 means a strong finish, more so into a headwind. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.
Glide 3 is on the low side for a fairway driver in our database. A low glide rating usually means a flight that drops sooner, which can make the disc easier to place on short shots. The rim is 1.7 cm wide (about 0.67 in), narrower than most fairway drivers in our database.
Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the Xtreme as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
