Choose it for
Short, stable upshots. Innova designed it as a short-range approach disc that also works as a putter in wind. It suits shots where you want the disc to stop near the basket rather than glide past.
Choose something else if…
You want a putter that keeps carrying on longer approaches. A higher-glide putter such as the Aviar keeps flying where the Animal sits down.
What the Animal flight numbers mean
Glide 1 is the lowest rating on Innova’s scale, so the Animal is built to drop rather than float. The 0 turn and 1 fade point to a straight flight with a mild finish.

Which version are you buying?
Innova lists the Animal only in Star plastic at 173–175 g, so every copy is near the top of the weight range. The Thumbtrac rim has a groove for the thumb; check that it suits your grip before using it as your main putter.
