What the MX1 flight numbers suggest
Speed 9 is a fast fairway driver rating. It needs a reasonably fast, clean throw before it flies as rated; slower throws turn less and fade sooner. Our catalog provider lists it as a distance driver; speed 9 is slower than the typical distance driver in our database (median speed 12).
Turn -2 and fade 3 describe a long S-shaped flight when thrown fast: it moves right first and hooks back hard at the end. The -2 turn means it is rated to turn noticeably at full speed, which suits slower arms, hyzer flips and rollers, and the fade of 3 means a strong finish, more so into a headwind. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.
Glide 4 is on the low side for a distance driver in our database. A low glide rating usually means a flight that drops sooner, which can make the disc easier to place on short shots. The rim is 2.1 cm wide (about 0.83 in), a typical width for a distance driver. A rim this wide usually calls for a firm power grip.
Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the MX1 as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
