What the Ballistic flight numbers suggest

Speed 13 is a distance driver rating. Recreational players usually see the rated flight only with a fast, clean throw. Thrown slower, a disc this fast fades early and loses distance.

Turn -2 and fade 3 describe a long S-shaped flight when thrown fast: it moves right first and hooks back hard at the end. The -2 turn means it is rated to turn noticeably at full speed, which suits slower arms, hyzer flips and rollers, and the fade of 3 means a strong finish, more so into a headwind. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.

Glide 4 is on the low side for a distance driver in our database. A low glide rating usually means a flight that drops sooner, which can make the disc easier to place on short shots. The rim is 2.4 cm wide (about 0.94 in), wider than most distance drivers in our database. A rim this wide usually calls for a firm power grip.

Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the Ballistic as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
