What the Hawk flight numbers suggest

Speed 4 is a midrange rating. Most players can bring a disc this fast up to speed, so the rated turn and fade are close to what you will see.

Turn -2 and fade 2 describe an understable flight: it moves right early in the flight before the finish, the shape slower arms and hyzer flips rely on. The -2 turn means it is rated to turn noticeably at full speed, which suits slower arms, hyzer flips and rollers, and the fade of 2 means a clear finish as it slows down. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.

Glide 3 is on the low side for a midrange in our database. A low glide rating usually means a flight that drops sooner, which can make the disc easier to place on short shots. The rim is 1.2 cm wide (about 0.47 in), narrower than most midranges in our database. A rim this thin fits a fan grip or a putting grip.

Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the Hawk as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
