What the Gobi flight numbers suggest
Speed 6 is a fairway driver rating. A moderate arm speed reaches the rated flight; thrown too slowly, it fades earlier than the numbers suggest.
Turn -0.5 and fade 1 describe a stable flight: a fairly straight line with a modest finish, the easiest shape to aim. The -0.5 turn is close to neutral, with only a hint of early movement at full speed, and the fade of 1 means a light finish as it slows down. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.
Glide 5 is typical for a midrange in our database. Glide is the rating that changes least between similar discs; plastic and weight matter more for how long it stays up. The rim is 1.4 cm wide (about 0.55 in), a typical width for a midrange.
Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the Gobi as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
