What the #2 Helix flight numbers suggest
Speed 8 is a fairway driver rating. A moderate arm speed reaches the rated flight; thrown too slowly, it fades earlier than the numbers suggest.
Turn -1 and fade 3 describe an overstable flight: little movement to the right and a dependable hook at the end, which helps in wind and on shots that must end left. The -1 turn means it is rated to drift a little early in the flight when thrown at full speed, and the fade of 3 means a strong finish, more so into a headwind. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.
Glide 5 is typical for a fairway driver in our database. Glide is the rating that changes least between similar discs; plastic and weight matter more for how long it stays up. The rim is 1.7 cm wide (about 0.67 in), narrower than most fairway drivers in our database.
Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the #2 Helix as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
