What the Theory flight numbers suggest

Speed 4 is a midrange rating. Most players can bring a disc this fast up to speed, so the rated turn and fade are close to what you will see.

Turn -1.5 and fade 1 describe a stable flight: a fairly straight line with a modest finish, the easiest shape to aim. The -1.5 turn means it is rated to drift a little early in the flight when thrown at full speed, and the fade of 1 means a light finish as it slows down. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.

Glide 4 is typical for a midrange in our database. Glide is the rating that changes least between similar discs; plastic and weight matter more for how long it stays up. The rim is 1.2 cm wide (about 0.47 in), narrower than most midranges in our database. A rim this thin fits a fan grip or a putting grip.

Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the Theory as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
