What the Beetle flight numbers suggest

Speed 1 is a putter rating. A disc this slow flies a short, controllable line and rewards a smooth release more than arm strength. Our catalog provider lists it as a putt and approach disc; speed 1 is slower than the typical putt and approach disc in our database (median speed 2.5).

Turn -1 and fade 0 describe a stable flight: a fairly straight line with a modest finish, the easiest shape to aim. The -1 turn means it is rated to drift a little early in the flight when thrown at full speed, and the fade of 0 means little or no rated hook at the end. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.

Glide 7 is on the high side for a putt and approach disc in our database. A high glide rating usually means the disc stays up longer for the same throw, which adds distance but can carry past a tight landing zone. The rim is 0.8 cm wide (about 0.31 in), narrower than most putt and approach discs in our database. A rim this thin fits a fan grip or a putting grip.
