What the Trident flight numbers suggest
Speed 6 is a fairway driver rating. A moderate arm speed reaches the rated flight; thrown too slowly, it fades earlier than the numbers suggest. Our catalog provider lists it as a fairway driver; speed 6 is slower than the typical fairway driver in our database (median speed 8).
Turn -0.5 and fade 3 describe an overstable flight: little movement to the right and a dependable hook at the end, which helps in wind and on shots that must end left. The -0.5 turn is close to neutral, with only a hint of early movement at full speed, and the fade of 3 means a strong finish, more so into a headwind. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.
Glide 4 is typical for a fairway driver in our database. Glide is the rating that changes least between similar discs; plastic and weight matter more for how long it stays up. The rim is 1.9 cm wide (about 0.75 in), a typical width for a fairway driver.
Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the Trident as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
