What the #3 Driver flight numbers suggest
Speed 6 is a fairway driver rating. A moderate arm speed reaches the rated flight; thrown too slowly, it fades earlier than the numbers suggest. Our catalog provider lists it as a fairway driver; speed 6 is slower than the typical fairway driver in our database (median speed 8).
Turn -2 and fade 3 describe a long S-shaped flight when thrown fast: it moves right first and hooks back hard at the end. The -2 turn means it is rated to turn noticeably at full speed, which suits slower arms, hyzer flips and rollers, and the fade of 3 means a strong finish, more so into a headwind. Those directions are for a right-handed backhand; a forehand or a left-handed backhand mirrors them.
Glide 5 is typical for a fairway driver in our database. Glide is the rating that changes least between similar discs; plastic and weight matter more for how long it stays up. The rim is 1.6 cm wide (about 0.63 in), narrower than most fairway drivers in our database.
Try Discs, our catalog provider, lists the #3 Driver as discontinued, so you may only find it used or in old stock. The ratings still help you understand a copy you already own and find a current disc that flies the same way.
